"It's Natural it Won't Harm Me !"
I hear this all the time.
"It's natural it won't hurt you ".
There are many things "Natural" that will harm you.
If you were offered a cup of posion ivy tea would you drink it ?
Just because it's a herb and natural does not mean someone will not have a reaction to it . While it is rare it is still possible.(unless of course it is poison Ivy) So always test a herb you have never taken before by making a tea of it first and placing a bit of that tea (after cooling it down of course) on a patch of your skin and then wait to see if you have a reaction to it. A reaction is defined as a bright red raw or itchy ,raised sandpaper bumps kinda thing. A light pinkish redness does not count as a reaction since some herbs cause increased blood flow to an area. If after a few hours you do not have a reaction then it is safe for you. Even if it is a herbal blend in a capsule you can take a capsule apart boil a 1/2 cup of water, remove pan of water from heat, add capsule ingredients to it , allow it to steep (and cool enough for your skin) then follow above directions.
If you are on medications then one has to be careful what herbs one takes with what medications. This takes someone with experience and knowledge that is able to take your list of medications and see if there is any problem between a herb your taking or wanting to take and the medicine the doctor has you on. If there is a problem, then another herb can be found that works with the medication instead of against it .

There is much information on the web today regarding the title of this article. It all can be pretty confusing for someone who is looking for answers to a health situation they have. It is easy to suffer from information "overload" .
Every site you visit claims to have the perfect answer/product for you. So how do you know ? They all have testimonies from people who have had great success with this product or that product , this treatment or that treatment . The answer to this puzzle is that each of us are unique and what works for one does not always work for another. There are some absolutes like all bodies need water,air and nutrition. The rule of thumb is that all health conditions can be assisted by proper nutrition.
In order to reverse or alter any state of chronic disease , one has to start with the immune system and proper nutrition:
Your immune system is effected by many different things . The fact that you have a chronic condition or something as serious as Cancer says that your immune system has been compromised in some way . Did your doctor tell you that your immune system was functioning normally ? If you had it tested that is most likely what the results would say unless you were prior diagnosed with an immune system disorder .
Your immune system can be compared to your blood pressure . Both are effected by stress . Both are effected by your emotions and your overall nutrition . You might want to ask your self this question : How many times a day am I irritated, angry , frustrated , uncertain or confused ? If you are like most people these emotional responses happen many times in the course of a day . When one experiences these emotional states these emotional states affect the whole body. One can get a better understanding of this by observing how emotions affect blood pressure. You blood pressure will go up in response to any form of anxiety. Like wise your immune system response goes down in response to anxiety,fear,anger,depression,ect.If these emotions are felt regularly then your immune system response to invaders and it's ability to function at top notch condition is inhibited.
Different emotions produce different chemical changes within the body. Positive emotions enhance the body's ability to heal itself while negative emotions cripple the body's ability to heal itself.
Doctors and all health professionals agree that the more upbeat and positive one is regarding their health and life the better that persons ability to recover or heal is.
Here is an example : Lets say you are at work and your boss has just informed you that he/she is cutting back hours for everyone in the company . Fear of the unknown and how that might effect you and/or your family is instant .This fear is always followed by some form of anger and might be manifested as anxiety first ,then frustration , or perhaps anger. It may completely devastate you and send you spiraling down into depression . These emotional responses are all off shoots of the fight or flight response and are hormone responses that produce a multitude of chemical changes within the body . Under the fight or flight response , your bodies immune system response is lowered , blood pressure changes,digestion slows,ect. At this point you might say/think something like this ; "I cannot help how I feel !"and right this second that is a true statement . So now what ?
