On this page we will be exploring making your own stuff .

Making a cup of herbal tea from loose cut herbs:

Making your own massage oil:

For now we will learn how to make your own herbal relaxing blend for a nice relaxing bathsoak.

Here is a simple herbal relaxing bath- soak treatment:

(For how to test for an allergic reaction to any herb go to Hebal Wizdom page... read article titled It's Natural it won't hurt me.)

Note about the soak-this is to be a soak not a cleaning bath- one should be clean when one soaks

You will need some cheesecloth

scissors to cut the cheese cloth into a approximate 8 inch by 8 inch square

thread to tie the herbs in the cheese cloth bag you will create from the 8" by 8" inch square of cheesecloth, (You can also use a coffee filter but cheesecloth works better)

You will need about 1/4 oz herb mixture which will be made from Lavender, Rosemary , and Chamomile.

Here is the herb  ratio-1 part each of Rosemary and Chamomile, 2 parts Lavender. till U have  a 1/4 oz. or so of herb mix.( note about Chamomile--if you have a severe ragweed allergy  do not use Chamomile -you can substitute with Basil or Sage)- Place herb mix into center of cheesecloth square(or coffee filter) and pull the ends up till you have the herb mix enclosed completely . Tie it securely closed with the thread.-This part is important -if it is not securely tied closed the herbs will get into the bathsoak water.(which isn't a bad thing but you will have herb pieces on your body to remove.)

once you have your homemade herb tea bag put it in 1 quart of water in a pan on the stove. Put a lid on it.  Bring the herbs and water to a boil- when this boils turn heat down and simmer for about 15 minutes then remove from heat and let steep for about 20 minute or so-it needs to cool a little.

Run you a good warm bath-(NOT HOT) a hot bath will drain you and to cool of a bath just will not relieve the tension. (ideal temp. of water is 90-100 degrees)

add your herbal infusion to your water , then you get in the water and soak for a bit.

You will know when you are done.

You can prepare your soaking space a bit before and/or while  you are running your  bathsoak water or while waiting for your herbal infusion to get ready. adjust your lighting  or put on some soothing music you love to listen to , (I said soothing Music-you are not suppossed to want to dance when you are relaxing ) light an aromatherapy candle of your favorite scent. While you are soaking and relaxing Take deep Breaths - belly breaths and by that I mean  breath in from the stomach up-your belly  should rise and fall with each breath. Breath in through your nose and gently blow the breaths out through the mouth-long ,slow, deep breaths, and last but not least ENJOY!
